yeah, repeat with me jay.....other than pellets is......more pellets..........look at his sig, he has around 5 TONS....!!

geek, Its only 4.9 tons and dropping as I dump them in the hopper!

Going for a hog status level. Should have another 2 tons by fall! The thought of $280 plus for pellets still haunts me and I figure I might ride it out sitting on a huge stash!

Wifey knows me, I said this ought to do it for this year when we were walking out of Lowes. I heard her tell my son "for this month maybe" hehe. She doesn't fight it any more. All I need to do is threaten to drop the stat temp to 68ºF, I get the check book! She gets 74ºF temps plus! Win-Win for both! hehe :cheese:

I prefer to get things done in in one session, so the driveway has to be able to handle a real truck not some toy. You need 4 wheel drive to even get in my yard at this time of year (as my neighbor should have discovered last year, well he did, his wife had the problem this year) and until the upper drive clears out I can't even turn a large truck around.

You'll note I'm a very civilized bruin. I'm a member in good standing of the Pellet Pig Club.

However when it comes to a good dose of BBQ or a good oink roast, I'm right there with my bib and eating utensils.

I quoted Eric only because he wrote the rules. I agree haul them anyway you can, Delivery is for lazy wimps.

Pretty sure your Jeep isn't the best on fuel either. Heck my 02 Sable getting 28 MPG highway isn't all that good these days. Plus your 2 trips equals more fuel used than my single trip if the distance is similar. Anyone hauling there own needs some recognition.

Pellets getting deliver IMHO is just to easy. They even place them where you want them(not a work out watching someone else sweat!). I have to re-stack mine myself. My only easy detail is they slide the whole ton into the P/U. Having to load the vehicle and then unload is 2x the work IMHO. Another status that needs to be recognized for the ones that do it that way.

Wife and I can unload a ton into the basement in about 1/2 an hour. We though about the kids slide trick, But hustling them about get you some exersize!

Although just a pig wanabee my self I think any way and and any means of filling the stash is acceptable. I have had some delivered and I pick them up. Honestly it is easier for me to load half a ton in my Jeep Grand Cherokee ( V8 ). And pull right through my yard to my back shed. The delivery folks can't do that. At least not with 6 inches of snow or so left.

Darn and all I ever get is a belly full of homemade eats.

I have to let her go shopping in order to eat out :lol: .

I don't work late, I gave that up for Lent several years ago ;-P .

Hey, be careful you are calling "lazy wimps"! LOL For us, delivery right into the garage is about the only way we are able to manage using pellets. I pay the price and make sure to give a good tip. To be honest, I am lucky to be able to get the bags of dog food into the house. I can move the pellets if I take my time.
The guy form Jay Me. I think it is SIB enterprises, has a pallet jack and pulls them right off his trailer and into the garage. He sells and delivers them cheaper than I could buy them from someone else without delivery. My drive way is level and paved. no bump going into the garage.
Get them anyway you can, get as many as you can, and get them as soon as you can. oink, oink!

Yep, but only if he has a working pallet jack with him. I've bunkered twenty one ton the last 3 seasons and only 4.5 tons were actually put where they were removed for (or will be removed for) burning from, the other 16.5 tons were handled by hand.

After burning both Greene team and Somersets i would definitely choose Somersets! I have a 20 deg difference in temp between the 2. 195-200F compared to 220F. Bring on the next cold snap.
