Got a load of wood from a local arborist. They said it was a “mixed load” but it all looks the same to me. The rounds in the background are Doug Fir from a different delivery.

From other threads it looks like maybe some kind of maple - sugar or red? I’m in the PNW so I’m not sure if sugar even grows here.

No leaves or chips were delivered with them so it’s hard for me to say.

Soft maple. Looks like red from the pics.

Great, thanks. Red maple looks like a great middle of the road wood that dries quickly. Will css soon to get it drying for next winter

Found some leaves under the logs. Definitely some kind of maple but this doesn’t look like leaves of a red maple to me, according to Google. Cuts and splits pretty easily

Yes, looks like the leaves on my silver maple in the front yard back in TN . (Doesn't mean there can't be other maple types looking like this - my maple knowledge isn't great).

Bark does look like it too.

Thanks for the info! It’s the one type of maple I had hoped to avoid since it doesn’t put out much heat but I’ll burn it anyway 😁

I’ve noticed any maple I burn seems to leave a lot of ash

Norway maple, its brittle wood that splits easy, burns well to, I dont mind it one bit in my stacks.

Silver maple, Norway has fatter leaves and a bit less spiky on the tips.

It's definitely not norway. I do like it's heat too, though.
