We are installing a chimney in a two story house. We got a Selkirk flat ceiling support kit. We have the finish ceiling support installed and started running the triple wall pipe on the second floor. However I’m wondering what is supposed to support the chimney to keep it from being wobbly. It’s got a decent amount of wobble to it. The attic insulation shield has enough room to the let the chimney wobble and the roof flashing has air space between it and the pipe so that wouldn’t keep it stable either. So what keeps the chimney stable? Is it the roof support kit? Or am I completely missing a vital component?
