It would be a better snow mover if I had a rear blade for the PTO. It's not hard to take the backhoe off and put something else on. Moving snow with the loader is tedious, because I can't just shove it to the side like I could with angled blade. But it's fun! Rick

EDIT: Oops, make that the 3PH, not the PTO duh!

Tractors don't like going backwards, especially with a loader on the front. Ever think of fixing up a blade for the front end?? Not to mention that I love the built in "get me unstuck" hoe option. My machine is a little bigger, but I have used the hoe as my tow truck on more than one occasion.

Edit: is that thing 4WD, cuz that would make a difference in going backwards.

Yeah, it's 4WD. A rear blade doesn't have to be pushed backward to be effective. It can be swung front-facing and set on an angle and it'll do the job, even though it's in the wake of the tires. A guy I know has a rear blade swung rear-facing at an angle, and he'll move snow both directions...with the loader going forward and with the blade going backward. I just need to find a 48" rear blade and get it on there and give it a try. (Same thing I said last year :red: ) Rick

The loader's as easy to take off as the backhoe, but to mount either a blade or a blower on the front end I'd need to buy another attachment gizmo and then the implement. Cheaper to do the rear blade thing.

Yeah, I'm already getting tired of winter and it just started. Maybe I need a new stove to help my cabin fever?

I think you and me need to start picking out two stoves and swapping with each other ever other year. ;-P

Hey, now there's an idea. Hearth.com stove swap. We can all swap back and forth and try all the stoves of our dreams. Where's half way between VA and WI?

-13 at my place the other night.......wasnt a heat wave inside my place by any stretch of the imagination but the furnace never kicked on for heat!!

My house. (Rick is way off to the left). BroB would have to drive past me to get to you. I even have plenty of storage space as a drop off point. :cheese:

Hey, I could be a "hub".

Yeah, but I can spell it backwards without hurting my head.

maybe u could configure a blade to mount on the bucket & drive backwards?

If I configured a blade to mount on the bucket, I wouldn't have to drive backwards. Rick

If you really wanna move snow get yourself a PTO driven snow blower. Rear blades on a light tractor like that can be a pain in the arse. I've got a 70hp International and it's marginal for for the rear blade in heavy snow and it probably weighs 5x what yours does (angled rear blade shoves the arse of the tractor over). I keep threatening my self to get a 3pt PTO driven snow blower but it's so much easier to pull that lever on the floor of my truck and go about my business.
