I began burning Sunday evening. These photos are from this morning. Chimney has just been cleaned before start up. I have some maintenance to do over the next week.

Got new center bricks, rebuilt fan. Cleaned chimney and WG heat exchange area and everywhere else I could at, but still on oil until cold temps are here to stay.

I bought new center nozzle bricks too. Going to put them in this weekend. Have to do a thorough cleaning as well as adjust rear doors, and reseal my exhaust pipe over to chimney.

How much of a job was the fan rebuild?

I have been doing a lot of burning until the boiler and buffer tank are heated up to about 185-190. Then shut it down. These temperatures we have been having are nice!

AHS did the rebuild while I watched, took him about 30 minutes. Would have taken me 2 hours I'm sure. They have done this many times and it would have been all new to me. Plus they installed "new & improved" parts that I would not have known about.

New nozzle ceramics installed and exhaust pipe resealed this weekend. Cleaning completed. Colder temperatures getting here slowly but surely.

I think I'm on my 3rd set of motor bearings and come to think of it I just put in my 2nd full set of refractory beyond the originals. I'm on the 15th year and for about the last 10 I've had an hour meter on the green light circuit. It's showing 8387 hours now.
How are you guys doing? I've been awol from this site for no particular reason for quite a spell.

Things are going well here. The first real colder temps just setting in. The Wood Gun is eating a good amount of firewood now. Good to see you here. I’ve been busier than usual this time of year. But, I suppose it’s keeping me healthy both physically and mentally. I need to start making the rounds more frequently on four or five forums I like to read and participate in. Lately I’ve been having fun working outside a lot with the milder temperatures.(Too mild.) But as it gets colder that will slow down.

Hi Gasifier, I'm from Potsdam and I'm thinking about buying a wood gun e100. How does it handle the 0 degree weather we get? Do you wish you would have gotten a bigger model?

I heat a 1600 sqft house, DHW, and 1500sqft shop now with an old aquatherm 345. Just looking to compare before I jump in.

My take on the E100 and cold temps is...the colder the better. With the thermostats calling for heat on a more regular basis I don't need to use the cycle timer at all to keep hot coals in the firebox. This avoids any possibility of a short cycle.

We heat apprx 2200 sq ft, burning all oak this year and it's been easy going. Don't heat DHW with the WG since installing solar panels a few years ago.
