Hi All
Fired up the system yesterday.
11 hours of burn time to bring my storage up to 179 F
No hicups this year, i added about a quart of water to get the pressure gauge to move off it's stop.
Happy burning everyone

Glad to hear the season is starting with no issues. I think we are going to set this wood burning season on the side lines and just enjoy burning some propane. Its been nice to hear the direct vent water heater running and not thinking I needed to fire the Garn up. Need to figure out if we are going to sell some wood or just set on it until we make the final decision on installing a new boiler or not.

One issue is i was not able to get to cutting wood this year
i have 4.5 cords of seasoned wood left to use up, i will be getting wood from my neighbor who is in the wood business. I have tires for his truck to trade.
I have over a years worth of green trees harvested from one of my lots i am developing that needs to get bucked up and seasoned next summer, plus get next winters wood.

Its funny how things go. I normally process firewood in the heat of summer just because that's when we have time to do it . This spring was dry and cool here. One of my firewood helpers calls and he's ready to cut hedge trees and process wood logs we already have cut last year. So we work several days cutting hedge trees and finish an area completely up. Still have some time before planting and its still dry and cool so we split wood and load trailers. WOW I thinking we are ahead of the curve on the firewood for this year. Then fast forward to Aug and the Garn starting leaking again. Aug is normally when we start processing firewood. I have many trailers in the shed full of hedge firewood and no were to burn it. It be there next year. Funny how things work out. Hope your firewood processing goes well.

I will be doing some trading this year for the extra dry wood i need

Open for business, year 15 on my Econoburn 100. All systems go.
Nice looking set up. Good to hear the Econoburn is still leak free in year 15. I found a couple NOS Econoburn boilers but when I called them to get some information on there units I didn't get a warm and fuzzy feeling about there units.

Thanks guys , I wanted a shed that went with the rest of the rustic homestead. Salecker, just the expected fine dust ash on all the surfaces by the end of the heating season that I shop vac clean . That was the reason that after 4 years of burning in my basement , I moved the unit to the outdoor shed. That dust migrated thru the house.. Two other bonuses to this move was also being able to add 500 gals of storage which as you all know is a game changer for me, thats how these gasifiers are supposed to run. And no more excessive wood handling, I fill my pallets (with sides) in the woods , move it to my drying shed with fork equipped tractor , then as needed this goes into the shed once again with the tractor and I touch it for the last time as it goes into the boiler. Last winter I finished a radiant underfloor retrofit ,which I am know enjoying. Compared to my old baseboard heaters that "gulped" my precious BTU's, the radiant "sips" those same BTU's due to the lower water temp required. Just heard on the news that heating costs here in NY are expected to be up to 25% higher than last. NOT FOR ME . Life is good

And for hedgewood what is NOS boiler and who was "them" that you called

NOS New old stock boilers. I found a couple boilers that were 10-12 years old and had never been installed. Prices were good. I am looking for a replacement for my leaking Garn. I called and talked to Dale at Econoburn sounded like he was there main trouble shooter when folks had any issues. He seemed ok but it was like a deer in the headlights type of talk with him. Hard to explain the vibe I got on the phone. It sure didn't lead me to buy one of the boilers I found. Still shopping and will be using propane for this season.
