Well, I've been accidentally running the Orlan EKO 25 without a nozzle for the last month.

I bought the boiler used ($800) without knowing much about it and didn't realize the nozzle was taken out by the previous owner. I spent hours and hours trying to get the temps higher. Cleaned heat tubes, Swapped out fan, installed new air intake adjusters, different wood. Nothing worked.

I finally looked at replacing the nozzle and realized it wasn't even there. duh.

Oh well. Lesson learned.

Just so you know, It'll run without a nozzle but the fire goes out easily as there isn't much of an ash bed and the heat tubes clog like crazy. ha ha.

Well. I whipped up something to get by until the nozzle gets here.

That will likely melt/burn away in a day or two...I've seen guys make nozzles from a piece of heavy plate (3/4" -1") and get some half decent life from it...

I replaced my worn nozzle's with a set of cast ones similar to what vigas uses in their boilers. At the time they were available through the dealer from New York. They were supposed to not wear like the ceramic. That has been probably 6 or 7 years ago. So far they still look good.

It runs so much nicer now. ha ha. There is actually a bed of coals. Its 10 degrees out. It ran all night and burned like 2 logs which is awesome. I didn't know what I was missing. This boiler is awesome.

So odd the guy would remove the nozzle, sell it and not tell me its missing. I didn't know.
