I was trying to be clever and hide my power cord and in so doing stripped some of the insulation off...not to copper, but the outer layer. Does anyone know if the cord with the integrated fan speed box are availabe as a replacment part?

Thanks

If you only went thru the first layer, you're still okay.
If it makes you feel better, you can dab on some "Brush-on electrical tape" (do a GOOGLE search). Or use a bit of black silicone.

If you didn't cut into the copper, just wrap some black electrical tape atround the wire, you are still ok to run. The brush on stuff sounds even better if you can get it somewhere. But for convience, for now , regular black electrical tape will do just fine.

If you ever break the cord, just buy a 16 gague extension cord and cut the female 3 way plug
off the end of the cord , about 1 foot back, and open the fan box & connect the extension cord into the fan.

Make a picture of the wiring on a piece of paper before you start, so you can refer to it.

You may find yourself using either wire nuts or 1/4 female spade terminals, accordingly, which you can get at hardware store or home depot.

Tools needed are : wire strippers, diagonal cutters, scissors 2 cut tape , crimp pliers if using 1/4 female spade terminals , philips head or flat blade screwdriver to open fan box.

so now you are covered for the short term & the next 10 years, down the road.
