Hello!
Happy owner of a new Quadra Fire Pioneer III in our new construction home.
We purchased a lot with a couple acres of dead ash trees and loved our woodburning stove at our old house so we insisted on putting in a pretty serious wood burning fireplace at this new home.
We are just towards the end of our first burn season. While we have had a few issues with the unit (all handled nicely by the dealer) ultimately it has been a real beast.
We have a 2800 sqf 1.5 story and it pretty easily keeps our house in the 69 to 73 range via the thermostat if that's our target. You certainly could push temps into high 70's or low 80's if that's your thing. For us it was more about offsetting propane costs and being able to enjoy fires.
We also just recently have done a couple overnight low burns when it was quite cold out and it kept the house well above our programmed main heat source temp, so the heater never even came on.
I was wondering if anyone has encountered the blinking red light over fire indication?
We get this from time to time but it is completely random (seemingly) and is never when we have a big fire going.
I have also seen this blinking red light come on completely out of nowhere when we don't have a fire going and haven't had one going for days. Very strange.
Also, it is not the thermocouple error, it is the steady blinking light.
We had to have the processor board replaced early on due to a near home lightning strike, but the dealer put the newest board in and everything has worked great other than the random over fire indications.
Does anyone have a similar experience?
