smoke detectors are up co went in yesterday. Cant see anyway they will "make it right" other than looking the work over. the blame seems to go back and fourth between dealer/installer every 5min.
 
Who contracted the installer you or the dealer? If the dealer sent the installer and you only paid the dealer then it's on him..
 
dealer contracted the installer but had to pay the installer separate...So are the shifty ways of long island
 
That sux.. I did my own install so was not sure how that went.

The installer should have hooked everything up and did a test fire I would think..
 
it's backwards out here. the installer does the install the dealer comes the next day to show you the ins and outs...next day is 1/31 however.
 
Good thing he didn't say next week. Lol!!!
 
At that point I might have to put him in the hopper.
 
It seems most stove install issues where folks have had problems are when the dealer turfs the install to a 3rd party, and one plays the customer off of the other.

To me, that smacks of the car salesman - sales manager 'dance'. "My sales manager said no dealer will sell at the price you offered - but I really want you to park this car in your driveway tonight....."

You have huge bargaining power still so stick to your guns. The dealer is still sitting on your other stove. Is he not? Tell them you are now having second thoughts of going thru with that one since the first one is not up to your satisfaction and you are not so sure you want to double your problems. That will get the bastards attention. You paid a lot of money and deserve prompt and professional service done right. Period.
