we had one of the early stoves and it did the same thing. Woodstock replaced the stove and the newer version has that area beefed up with welds. During secondary burns we could see flame in that area as if air was leaking in. Stuff some gasket material in there and you should be good to go. Moving that 750 lb behemoth was pita. The only reason we went for the rebuild was the smoke smell from the door frame.

Definataly a pain to move! I'm gonna see what they suggest tomorrow..., it's coming off its pad regardless since its gettin a new hearth in the next few months any way!

Talked to lorin at Woodstock....they are gonna make it right and exchange my stove! No questions asked and take care of it. Can't ask for any better service period. Hands down the best you could have! It's nice to be treated fairly and taken care of. Woodstock has impressed me again

Is it safe for you to continue to use your stove until it is replaced?

She said its fine and good that I threw the gasket in there....it will just disrupt the secondary's pattern when it leaks, but shouldn't over fire or anything

Mine was fixed in Summer of 2013 with the reinforced fireback. The fix seems rock solid so far.
The part I never understood is why some firebacks warp and some don't. I baby mine to a sin and it warped, others beat on their stove and it's fine.

The Original Prototype never warped and they fired the hell out of that stove.

I agree....my stove truly isn't run hard at all. If it was it would run us out of my house! It doesn't take much for it to take our living room to 80 with bedrooms upstairs at 68, which is nice
