Made a short video on what I hope is a helpful tip to clean out some of the creasote from our Princess Models. There are deflection shields on both sides of the chamber above the bricks. Creosote can build up in there, and while probably not dangerous, it can build up over time. I use a plumbing tool to help my clean this out as seen in the attached video. Enjoy.

Nice. I have done it with those big HVAC zip ties, but the best seems to be an automotive vacuum hose on an air compressor blow nozzle. Feed the hose behind the shields and puff puff that junk out. I do believe it is important to remove that junk to maintain the air space which is the purpose and also to prevent corrosion back there.

Any plastic scratching off from that thing?

I use a steel brush to avoid any plastic in the stove.

Small amounts if any, true, but I prefer nothing in there.

I had some of that metal strapping laying around that came off a shipping crate. Stuff is about 3/4 to inch wide. Bent a hook on one end and it seemed to do an OK job of pulling and pushing behind those walls.
