I have the pleasant hearth w2417 and i want to replace it with a Drolet. I know EPA stoves can't be turned down like the old non EPA stoves. I have ashes and charcoal left over with thePH ,Will the Drolet burn better? can they be turned down somewhat to get a longer burn time.

It may. This will depend on how large of a Drolet one is considering, the draft strength, wood quality, and operator.

An advantage of the Drolet Deco Nano over the small Pleasant Hearth is that the Drolet can be loaded much fuller even though the capacity on paper is similar. This is because the small PH is an E/W loader and the Drolet Nano is a N/S loader. The Drolet 1500 is sort of in between. It can load N/S with shorter 12" splits, but is mostly and E/W stove.

Well I made up my mind on a new stove to replace the Pleasant Hearth ws2417. I looked at the Drolet , not what I really wanted. I liked the Blaze king Sirocco , but I did not meet their minimum before I went horizontal. next was the Hearthstone Green Mountain 40. So I contacted them with my setup. They said the Green mountain 40 would work. I called the closest dealer , 80 miles away to see if they had one, Yes they hade one and it was on sale that week. $300 off . So now I have a new Hearthstone , have had two small break in fires and it seems draw real well. Really felt guilty selling the Pleasant Hearth to someone but I let go for $200 .
