I really didn't like the more involved cleaning compared to the rocky mountain pellets I burned last year but I am dumping a lot of ash from the first ton of Pro pellets and it isn't killing me. I paid 205.00 a ton for the pro pellets. I am not a big fan of OHP's at 3.85 a bag but at 2.54 per bag?
What would you do?

I am getting ready to pick up another 1 - 1.5 tons of pellets from HD at $187 a ton which is better than the $270 I paid in November.
I just tried 3 bags of Stove Chow from HD at $3.74 a bag and it burned pretty good. Very little dust (fines) in the bags, low amount of ash, and the heat output was good as well.
I tried 3 bags of Penningtons and found alot of dust in the bags (like while I am pouring it into the hopper, as opposed to being mostly at the bottom of the bag), the heat was good but left a considerable amount of ash.
I am getting ready to try 7 bags of Nations Choice which is
suppose to be ultra low ash also sold at HD.
I already went through 1 ton of Country Boy which was excellent but run about $5.40 a bag, so I am looking for alternatives.
Let me know what you think of nations choice. They don't burn very good for me. Alot of ash and little heat, maybe a bad batch.

Pellet's are made from basically a FREE resource, lumbar yards would pay U to get rid of it!, except for the equipment to make them and haul them it's pure profit.................like to see what BTU say's about this one, you sweating bullet's there BTU buddy? lately with these low prices?, maybe wasn't such a great business venture after all?
I'm burning Stove chow as we speak for $163 a ton and feel no diffrence in heat, it's 20 out there and it's 72 in my hopuse, and chow has low to NO DUST!

Lowe's in Salem NH just got Maine's choice in for $3.74 per bag and either tonight or tomorrow they will get a truckload for Green Team for $3.74 per bag so the price is staying down and they still have them for now.
As far as their seasonal merchandise goes, They are selling Lawn Tractors with Tire Chains!! See Picture BELOW
Somehow it may not be a big seller right now!!

How did you find out about the Green Team? Every time I call HD or Lowe's and ask what they have, they say they only have freedom fuel. I tell them they have another brand and then they go and ask and come back and say yes that they have Fireside too.

We have gone through around 70 bags so far.
Ash is black and fluffy. Heat output is great. Can run almost a ton through
before the ash pan needs to be emptied.
Oil prices in Western Maine are right around $3.00/gal and inching upward.
Downeast Maine has an average price of $3.18/gal.Sure do love the pellet stove!!
