Had 150 gallons delivered today at $1.99 and next month 3 ton of Okies at $319.00 ton delivered.

I have 1300 gallon oil capacity at my house, I only burn 260 gallons a year, with the help of the pellet stove. I'll be topping off this year, but when the price of oil goes up, I can skip a couple of years.

The 150 filled us up, so working out at approx. 60 galllons a year since stove. Stove pellet running an average of $1100.00 per and get to keep the house 70 degrees plus. Oil at 65 and higher cost. Pellet again..no brainer!

$1.86 a gallon today here in the Lehigh Valley(PA). Just paid $260 a ton for Turmans. Will probably be better off running the furnace at these prices.

Jesus, I can't get oil or pellets for anything near either of those prices. Congrats to you.

Just filled up the oil tank $2.099 a gallon (broken link removed)

I will be buying 3 tons of Cleanfire Pacific (.33% ash) for $303 a ton delivered in the next few days.

Assuming the price of #2 fuel oil stays this cheap, I plan on starting up the wood pellet stove a lot later this season.

I will also make sure I vote for a president that will NOT be starting more dumb wars in the middle east. I can get use to this cheap Iran oil as long as Iran doesn't start blowing up American cities. That would be very very bad.

You're aware the first Iran sanctions were imposed in 1979 and Iran hasn't been allowed to sell oil to the U.S. since several Executive orders in 1995 right ?
Let's hope for the sake of the Everyman Iranian that Iran finds a better fit in this world than their Revolution provided for.

Oil is ranging from $1.84 to a little over $2 a gallon in Southern Maine area. I filled up in June @ $2.16 so a little bummed but was happy with the price at the time and with the furnace turned off it isn't going anywhere.

Pellet prices have really gone up where I live, it's cheaper to use Natural Gas which is what I plan on doing this year. I have 2 stoves, I have a Quad Castile insert in our living room, which only runs on low setting and uses very little fuel that way and keeps about half the house comfortable. At the other end I have a new addition a 18 x 24 new family room with a new Harmon P38 in it but I find out that this season pellets are $268 plus delivery fees, and since I can't pick them up due to the distance I have no trailer or truck I won't be buying many and will only use the stoves for ambiance and when I want to have a fire going. My home is all on one level it's a 3 bdrm ranch with hip roof , design so it's low and long and very well insulated and has thermal pane windows. So heating it is not too difficult. But at $268 a ton it's just not worth using a lot of pellets as I have in the past when pellets were $198 a ton. These are Country Boy premium oak hardwoods, and burn nicely and very hot with low ash. I think if I lived where you guys do and only paid $2.28 a gallon for oil I would use the oil and just run the stove once in a while or put a nice plant on top of it and use it as a decoration. This year my stoves are going to be like fireplaces where you just run them now and then when you want a fire and some ambiance. There is no reason I can see why pellets are up near $300 a ton and higher in some areas. To me it's price gouging since they know if you have a pellet stove you need fuel for it same as when gasoline was near $4 a gal here and now it's $2.37 a gal and going down more. I would hope that pellet stove owners send a message to the sawdust packers and let them know we aren't held hostage by pellets and can use less, meaning they get less profits.
