Found this guy when I went out to do some stacking this weekend. A pretty good size specimen for New Hampshire as far as I can tell. Harmless though, unless you are a toad who likes to hang out in wood piles.

Very nice looking garder snake !!!! Hope you didn't kill it! Snakes are some of the least bothersome creatures and yet tend to catch heck.

I'm definitely not a snake killer. Have had plenty of them as pets, the biggest up to 12 feet long. I think they are super cool and am happy to have them around.

(S)he's a beauty. I have a rabbit who's made home under my wood piles. Somehow it figured out a month ahead of time that the one it was living under was going to get cut and split, and moved to one that wasn't. Made me smile...

I had a monster spider on my wood pile the other night. I accidentally had him in my hand a few weeks ago when I was splitting wood at night. I nearly had a heart attack. He's probably like 2 1/2 inches in diameter. I live on long island. We don't see a lot of spiders like this. My tenant snapped a pic of him. I'll post it.

Don't be surprised that Fred learned to "Go Twice as Fast" after the next one..............................For some dogs, it's all about the hunt!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Up here, we have porcupines, you can guess how that usually goes.
