I have never hear of any safetys that are tagged out by the stove makers. Don't mess with that.

The napoleon shoukld have a digital controller(DHC3000 IIRC) and will flash an error code. One of the heat level indicatorsill flash once the stove has gone through the cycle. Start the stove and let it go until it shuts down and tell us what heat level is flashing. In the anual it will have a list of codes and what the issue related to the code is.

I'm betting its the POF is stuck and could only require a tap(light tap with the handle of a screw driver). And it should run. If not contact the dealer and request a new POF switch. I would try jumping it, Some of the newer controller monitor if the POF is stuck closed and it will only cause another error. I test with a toggle switch connected to the wires that go to the POF. Run the stove with the switch off and around 5 minutes in turn the switch on. Mimics the POF.

Maybe when we run into a dealer like this the name and address should be listed on the forum so others know to stay away from this dealer. Also the stove manufacturers might want to look closer at who they allow to become dealers of their product.

I agree. Gotta feeling McMom is gonna let Napoleon know all about them.

Figure out why the stove is not working.
I am 100% sure that there is a loose wire or a snap disk needs to be bypassed and tested.

It should not be your only source of heat. These things are space heaters not furnaces. If you are a risk taker and mechanically inclined then it can be your sole source of heat.

I would also call the cc company ASAP and explain that you are disputing the charge. That dealer is a bozo and I would love find out who it is.

She hasn't logged back in since her last post Sunday. My bet is that it got fixed. Happens sometimes and we never hear about it.

True story, I installed a stove way down in southbumville. I showed the guy how to use it did a nice test burn while I filled out paperwork. I leave the stove is working fine. He later decides he is going to move te stove so he can paint the room. When he plugged it back in it did not work. I begged the guy to take off the side cover and check connections. He refused threw a fit and I headed back to southbumville in snowstorm cause he had no heat. I got there and the damn power cord was not properly seated in the stove. Plugged it in and got home at 11:00 PM. No thank you no I am sorry no nothing.

Sometimes the customer needs to become a little more involved in the process.

Without re-reading all McMom's posts, I think I recall she was involved in all she was capable of being involved in.

I hope she returns with news of good resolution. Using the term "proof of fire" in her OP tells me she was wearing out the manual looking for a solution.

I agree. While she was self taught, like most of us here, she appeared to have a good grasp on diagnosing.....
