You have a 7" insulated steel chimney, running straight up through the ceiling?

In your situation, a damper might help you.
It'd be worth a try, anyway.
Yes Pen said that also and I guess it is well worth the try, now that it is warmer I could do it, the chimney has two ninety's, one in stove pipe and the thimble with an over all height of about 18 ft.
 
Actually, your chimney set-up sounds like what my FIL has. He installed a damper on his, and he noticed an improvement.
His isn't a Summit, it's one of these:

But it's still a non-cat, EPA stove.

Keep us posted on how it works. For the $7 or so, it's worth a try.
