I am sure the 361 is awesome, the 361 with a 20 inch bar is 59 cc (4.4 bhp)is $659 the 390 is with a 20 inch bar 64.1 cc (4.3 bhp) is $479. I have never used the 361, I am sure it is great. I was comparing the cc's when I said "less for more". But a fair bit more expensive (list price wise).

list price in my area is 519.00 for 390 and 361 is 619.00 a thats up 20 bucks in the last month,because there not making them anymore

Jay, it Sounds like they are ripping you on the 390 since it is cheaper on the Stihl Website. They are charging over list price.

Paid $489 for my 361 w/20" bar. It was demo unit, looked like it made about 3 cuts before going to the store.
