Neo 2.5 hard to get going - ? insufficient draw

Sorry for the late reply. No, clearances are not correct for sure. It’s 10” from the stone wall and 6” from the mantel. I will be ordering a double wall pipe to replace that ASAP.
 
Hi all, I might have a solution here. I joined the forum because I came across this post when having similar issues but have manage to get my neo 2.5 working.

I originally had significant build up of creosote on the baffle which was affecting chimney draw.

I removed the baffle plate, cleared the chimney then put it all back together and tried to light it. The whole thing filled with smoke and smoke started pouring out into the house!

After dismantling it again i found that when I had removed the baffle plate to clean the flu it exposes the rear air draw and allows it to fill up and block with everything which comes down out of the chimney.

I got a long skinny vacuum hose extension and there was a LOT of creosote down there.
Once i cleaned this out it lit perfectly, door closed, and all smoke up the chimney!

I hope this helps someone else out!

It's a too common mistake. Always cover the secondary air feed tube before cleaning.
