When I went to bed last night my AP5660(L) stove was working great, this morning code E3 was flashing & it wouldn't ignite. So I turned my stove off for a few minutes, then back on, now code E4 is flashing. I clean/vacuum my stove everyday because it gets terribly dirty with dust and the inside gets completely covered in black soot therefore I have to deep clean it every day. What do I need to do to get it to ignite?

I read "Black soot means it's either not getting enough combustion air, it's getting too much fuel or the exhaust system is restricted". The exhaust is the bigger pipe that goes outside, right? If so, it's not restricted. "To much fuel" means to many pellets in the burn box, so that's not it either. I'm not positive what "not getting enough combustion air" means.

My past problem has been the pin that goes to the auger, that I guess holds the motor shaft in the auger, has broken 3-4 times. Of course this last time it broke in the night & I didn't have a pin handy to replace it. I put the shaft back in the auger hole, held it there while I turned it on & it worked. So I got one of my flame resistant Punduit zip ties to hold the motor & it's worked ever since then. I bought this stove new 5 years ago & have had so many problems with it! When it works, it works great & when something goes wrong it's a B to fix! I feel like maybe I don't have it installed correctly or something not setup right, after all I am "just a woman" (someone said that to me & it's been stuck in my craw ever since) My pellet stove & my wood stove are my only heat & it's cold here in Northwestern Oklahoma! I'm 58 years old, have to cut my own firewood & it seems like chainsaws are the only thing harder to keep running than my pellet stove! I recently bought a new Husqvarna but unfortunately a strong man didn't come with it to run it lol. (Just a joke) I run it myself & cut my firewood BUT I need help with my pellet stove! Please & Thank you in advance!

First is your stove clean all ash chambers from air intake to exhaust termination
A dirty stove plugged with ash will not work properly
Do you have a manual? If not here is an online copy
Please read the section on Damper
Is your home airtight? If so consider an OAK (outside air kit) it provides outside air to maintain the fire
If your home is air tight open a window a tiny bit in the stove room to supply air for combustion
Black soot on the glass is caused by poor combustion (dirty Fire)
The video is from Envrio and the best I have seen for pellet stove flame

Yes my stove is clean, I vacuum everything out everyday. I take those little metal plates on each side & vacuum them out too. No my house is definitely not air tight, so I don't think it's that. I have a manual somewhere but it'll be easier & faster to read the one online. I'll also watch the video that you suggested. I worked on it again tonight & it did ignite, but now it's not feeding any pellets into the burn pot. When it rains it pours. It's 11pm here and I'm to tired to work on it anymore tonight. Thank you for your kindness and your information. I really appreciate you

It was about dark, I'd worked on it most of the day, and I thought it's a good thing my feed pickup won't start because I wanted to back up to my house door, get my chain, hook it onto my pellet stove & drag it out in the pasture to our trash pit lol. No worries, common sense always comes into my head. Thanks again

Your Zip Tie didn't let go on the auger motor did it?
If not test the vacuum switch, also check the pellet hopper door is closed
a pellet sitting on the lip of the lid will stop the auger from working

I don't know what the vacuum switch is or where it is? My door is closed good. Thank you

I think something might be caught in the auger even though I blowed it out with my air compressor and vacuumed it out but I have taken it apart. I guess I'll take it apart tomorrow. The motor is working, I watched it turning today but it's not augering (is that even a word?) pellets into my burn pot. I put a few pellets in the burn pot today and they lite up and burned. I only put a couple handfuls pellets in the hopper to see if the auger was going to work but unfortunately it didn't. Tomorrow is a new day, and I know it's going to be better. Thank you all so much
