Thank you for your inquiry.
Yes, it does. Yes, we have. Some testing on other fuels has been done; none
has been completed at this time, and we have no time-table for completion.
We test and list every appliance as a system through the testing agency
listed in the installation and operation manual for each specific appliance.
This system testing includes Fuel types, all required components, and the
optional accessories specified in the installation manual. The use of
fuels, parts or accessories that have not been tested or listed with this
appliance may void the listing, warranty and your homeowners insurance.
We recommend working with a local dealer to guide you through the proper
installation of a Hearth & Home Technologies appliance or accessory. To

Subject: Quadra-Fire Technical Question (Thread:86716)
Customer Type: Consumer
Type of question: Technical
Model: Mount Vernon AE
Serial Number:
Question: Hello, I have a question regarding fuel types for the Mount
Vernon AE. The dealer was unable to answer my question. In the manual
it states the following: "Tested and approved for wood pellets, shelled
field corn, wheat and black oil sunflower seeds. Burning of any other
type of fuel voids your warranty." However, many places now have
pellets made out of grass, some are a mix of wood/grass (80/20). There is
also cherry pits that are also available for multi-fuel stoves. Does
this mean the use of these fuels will void the warranty of my appliance?
Has Quadra Fire considered the use of these types of fuel? Has there been
any testing? Thanks
