To avoid straight gassing my saws, I mix only 1 gallon at a time. The only mixed I have is in the same 1 gallon old bar oil gallon bottle. Most plastics are not petroleum safe. Over time the gas and oil will dissolve it.
 
I use this one, we have to use all safety cans for work and this one got donated to me 😉
Those are excellent cans. The only problem is the funnel getting dirty without a cover. I'm sure that problem could be solved fairly easy.
