I am going to talk to my wife about selling the stove. When talking of modifying the stove, increasing the size of the firebox was really what I was getting at I guess. I just need more wood in there to burn longer and hotter. That Englander stove is much cheaper than this stove cost. The invoice shows $1700 for this stove. Hopefully it will be an even swap if we sell it.
 
Yeah no way in hell you will ever be able to heat 2000 sq ft with that little stove. And yes by taking out the tubes and baffle you would make your tiny stove a little less tiny but you would also reduce the heat output by at least 1/4.

Yes, you need more capacity and horsepower. Was the insert purchased new? If so and if it's only a year old then it may fetch closer to the $1000-1200 range.
