Help a newbie
We would like to install a Jotul Fireplace Stove #3 built in 1986) in front of our fireplace. What is best way to shield the wooden trim on either side of the fireplace opening. It is 3/4 inch thick pine on top of the brick edge and will be about 13 inches from the edge of the stove. The stove clearances specify 16” from the side trim. We were thinking of just a piece of sheet metal with 1” ceramic standoffs. Should the metal be bent to follow the trim shape and be spaced 1” out but touching the brick or should it be flat, with the edge touching the brick but 1” in from the trim edge? Should it be 1” off the hearth?
Thanks. Sergio
