NickW installed a Valcourt in his new house.
Also, search in the SBI forum for Valcourt for more info on installs. Note that the same firebox for this ZC fireplace may show up under other SBI brands like Osburn, Enerzone, and Ventis.

Just randomly ran across this... As you can see in my post @begreen referenced I have the Osburn Stratford 2 not a Valcourt.

Reading through the thread you may need a roof support bracket depending on what the other support brackets are that you get/got and what the unit can support alone. Max flue my Stratford 2 could support alone was 12' or 15' (I don't remember which, I'm getting old and that was 3 years ago...) and I had 19' so I needed it. Get the installation manual downloaded way ahead of time so you know what all to expect. Each unit has different requirements for combustibles above and to the sides, framing, mantels, hearth, floor R value (possibly dependent on flush or elevated installation), flashings, etc. I was surprised by some of the metal flashing I needed to use at the platform top to face and again platform face to hearth support framing...

Make sure you check codes and understand firestops and firestop framing, airtight wall requirements, etc. Verify the structure can support the weight. I had to change 2 I-joists to double LVL's on our plans for the additional weight of the stove, framing, stone, durock, etc.

YOU CAN DO IT!

Thanks Nick. I think the Osburn Stratford2 and the Vacourt Lafayette 2 (FP10) are the same internally but with different trim but there may be other differences.
