They got FSU's in Londonderry? Must be the only HD with any, I wonder if they are leftovers from last year as they were the only HD with FSU's late last season.
the bags say 8/15

I'm betting their same month sales figures are lower this year than last. I've had a couple of vendors mention that. If so, that would cause a BBS to consider lowering price points to move product, as with any commodity.

I think it's hard to say.
Because they have so much more on the ground this year than last season.
Sales could be right about the same, but the increase in inventory may make it
look like they are way off... I know the HD near us, the backyard is packed..
remember, last fall, here, a lot of places were out.. like them, just flat did not order enough.

Our numbers are actually up, But to be fair, we pushed the 'early buy',
and many people did do it, which took a little of the sting off the crazy time.. (now)
and a call to the biggest stove dealer around these parts, today,
says that if he sells 3 more by October, he will surpass the
same time period last year...

I'm sure different areas are having different stories.
But according to the guys we get stuff from.. nope.. selling stuff...

So those are really fresh pellets then since someone explained that the bag date is actually the date the bags were made, not when the pellets were bagged. I may have to go take a wonder down that way after work and grab a few bags. It just doesn't seem right with only about 3/4 ton of FSU's in my house (got 5+ tons here, so don't need pellets - haha, just like a junkie!)

$5.29
Was: $5.98

Save 11%

Where's the 7% discount for buying a ton? And as if they ever got $299/ton for s*** pellets.

All this fuss over (at current prices):

Savings over oil $156.88

It's just not worth the labor right now.

It's only really worth it to burn pellets when the BTUs delivered are equivalent (or better), so

Oil Price x 100 = Ton of Pellets Price (delivered)

So if pellets were $200/ton (oil is $2/gal here), I'd save $535 due to the added efficiency of not heating the extremities of the house - just barely worth my labor.

Placed a order for 7 tons for me and my neighbor. Avg price per ton with delivery came in at 231 a ton. Not great but not bad. Four years ago I paid 188 a ton. Should have bought 20 tons. Lol

What brand did you get for 231?

Natures own.
Never heard of them :-) but thanks for the info. They're all way too expensive this year, 269 for HD low grade pellets is a tough pill to swallow. Doesn't seem like that many years ago we could get decent pellets for 200 a ton......
