Lopi Endeavor or Liberty?

Yes, of course, that makes sense. I also like to hear from other people who have more experience what they think of my choices. For example, if you thought I should get the Liberty because of the size of the house...or if any of you think that the Blaze King is a better stove...But thanks!

Thanks! That makes sense...in the meantime I found out the the Blaze King rep in this area is horrible. I mean almost every Yelp comment on them is 1 star--they'll sell it to you, then never answer the phone or show up if there's a problem...and this could be important! So that is steering me back to my original question, which is "get the Liberty or Endeavor"...
I know I am sounding neurotic at this point, but I've been trying to figure it out for 2+ months by talking to dealers and Lopi manufacturer and only just found you guys last night...sorry if i'm annoying...

You could spend a few more months exploring all the possibilities of woodstoves available on the market today. Cat/non-cat, plate steel, cast iron, soapstone, hybrid...every one of them from reputable manufacturers who produce high quality products. Believe me, we do it all the time here with folks just like you. And there would be no end to the discussions that Bart referred to in his post above. In saying I'd buy the Endeavor with a blower kit installed, I was addressing your original question of Liberty vs. Endeavor, both from the same manufacturer, and taking into consideration your location (climate), and floor plan. If you really want to open up the woodstove shopping universe, you're not going to have one any time real soon. Rick

I'd buy the Endeavor with a blower kit installed. You can turn the blower off if you don't want it running, you can adjust the speed (thus the noise) continuously over a nice range, and it does a whole lot to move heated air out away from the stove. If you decide you want one later on, it can be installed...but it's a pain. Rick

The Endeavor is right-sized, but the nature of A frames is for the heat to rise and remain at the peak. This can lead to hot loft bedrooms just to have it comfortable at the main floor level. A blower on the stove together with a ceiling fan will aid heat circulation and help break up heat stratifying at the peak.

Too bad about the local BK dealer. You could call BK tomorrow and see if they can make any other dealer recommendations. A good dealer is important.

Yes, you are right about finding a good dealer. 9/10 posts on Yelp were people saying that the dealer was accommodating at the point of purchase--and then impossible to deal with afterwards: no shows on appointments, rude staff, etc. The dealer is in San Francisco, 1 1/2 hours away, with a satellite 35 minutes away--all bad reviews. So in a way, this makes it easier to decide.
So I will go ahead and order the Endeavor, but with a fan. The Lopi dealer told me, however, that the fan was a waste of money because it only pushed the air out 6 feet, at which point it may rise anyways. Perhaps I should put in a second fan--there is one directly over the stove, but I can put another one near where the loft begins, to push the air down right where it may try to rise again...I may replace the original fan as well; it's as old as the house: 23 yrs old haha

I will follow your advice...you have a similar house, right? Maybe I can install an additional ceiling fan nearer to where the loft begins to help keep the air from rising; I love to sleep in the cold haha

The stove blower will push out the air much further than 6 ft even if you don't feel it. But more importantly it will pull air to the blower behind the stove and that will help circulation. If you like cool sleeping it's ok to let the fire go out at night.

I've owned both a lopi and a Blaze King. Both are great stoves! The blaze king's forte is super long burn times due to the fact that it is a catalytic stove. After owning a Blaze King I can't imagine owning anything else .

I would not have my Endeavor without the blower. It really helps in my drafty cabin.
