Picked up a 2000 Lopi Berkshire for the garage this week, It's currently set up for Nat gas, but will order the LP conversion kit.
My question is looking just below of the exhaust tube area there appears to be some form of caulk sealing the exhaust to the firebox which has shrunk or is missing. what should I use to re caulk that? any other areas I should check will I have it apart for cleaning?
Also wondering if anyone might have the decorative cast iron piece that sits dead center on top in the color "Cameo"

If sealant is required in that area, you can use Hi Temp RTV Silicone to seal it. Also check the area where the thermocouple, thermopile & pilot tube enter the bottom of the firebox. That can also be sealed with RTV. Check the condition of the glass gasket. It should be flexible so it can seal the front to the firebox…
