We moved, and unfortunately I am leaving behind my free-standing Drolet wood stove. The new house has a fireplace and we are entertaining an insert for it. I will miss the Drolet dearly, but I think the pellets will be a lot easier and cleaner to deal with. Looking for recommendations for a 1600 ft2 home with the stove on the first floor of 800 ft2 that is somewhat open area. Flame appearance, serviceability (We are DIY people) and quiet are important as the Drolet will be the measurable standard, lol.

I don't recommend any stove, buy what you would like.
Just buy a stove that can produce more BTU than you
think you will need. It is easier on really cold days to turn
a big BTU stove up than to get more heat from a maxed-out stove.
My first choice would be an Enviro then a Harman both North American Built
and very reliable
