I recently talked with a guy that has a wood kiln business. He supposedly seen a kiln dried by a wood fired hot air furnace built into on one end of the kiln. The furnace burned scraps, bark, chips, etc. that are elevated into the furnace. It heats the air inside the kiln via the heat ex. out the top of the furnace.

Said it can dry firewood in 24hrs to 15%

Thanks, G

I don't know anything about kilns, but I find it hard to believe that firewood of a normal size could be dried in 24 hours. I think it would take a lot longer than that even inside a kiln.
