guys i need a hand here, i have a customer who is getting quiet the run around up in souther(i think) NH she has one of my pellet units plumbed into a terra cotta chimney , the install was done by a friend who was apparantly not hip to the type of pipe required, he used a single wall 3 inch pipe, big no-no anyway i have gotten past that with the customer and she is willing to get the unit connected properly, problem i have is this, she had a guy come out who was recommended by a store which specialises in stoves, this guy comes out , sees the pipe and told her what i already did, but then tells her that the chimney itself may have cracks in the lining and that it needs to be torn down and rebuilt, he didnt get on the roof or anything, just straight up said that , on the outside , the chimney looks intact as far as i could tell from looking at about 30 photo's of it, its 8X8 TC, she took a shot down the flue herself didnt looik bad to me, i told her she would probably have to get a csia, or guild member sweep to scope it out to be sure, but structurely it looked sound ,and this is a pellet unit not a woodstove, i think a reline would be just fine for the pellet unit , simply run 4" SS liner and connect with rigid type L at the crock to run down into the unit. she has had one company that has told her that she could reline and quoted her $350.00 for the liner itself , seems ok, however they say she can connect this liner to the stove directly , even though its freestanding , and this liner would be exposed in the dwelling coming out of the thimble down to the unit. im not aware that you can do that and advised against. asked if she checked with her local FD , she said her fire chief has pellet unit (not mine thank gawd) and has his hooked to single wall as well.

essentially what im looking for is can somebody recommend to me a decent hearth pro. who she might be able to contact to check this out and see what im up against? i'll post area monday when i can get info from the office. help me out on this one guys , she is too nice a person/customer to get run around like this.

Mike depends what part of southern NH
I know at least one of the following is on this site.... perhaps probe in the industry forum which I CAN"T SEE.........
Stove keepers in Amherst NH (western)
Heartline stoves in Jaffrey NH (western)
Home and Hearth in Hampton Falls NH (eastern)
Northeast coal sales in Pelham NH (central)
They are all Harman dealers but That's all I really deal with.
But they may be able to help you a bit more on people they could recommend..
