Ordered this insert which is catalyst with secondary burn pipes. I’m trying to figure out what peoples longest burn times are. I’ve read a lot of 8 hour burns on here. I was hoping to get to 9-10 hour burns if it’s packed and set on a low burn. Hoping to make it easy to get fire up and going next day. If your able to achieve long burns is there any specific wood your using and what times are owners getting? Thanks

I am looking at the same unit and in Indiana also. Do you mind me asking where you purchased yours and what the price of the unit, surround and backplate was? Thank you. Is the unit installed yet and if so, have you been able to use it? What are your thoughts on the unit if you have used it?

Hello, Indy fireplace is the place that I’m working with. The insert itself is running about $4,800. I’m having to have a full installation done though which is going to run $9400 for the full installation. It’s not installed yet but I’ve payed the deposit and now waiting on insert to show up at store.

I don't get much it seems. Even with fully dry oak, I get about 5 hours on average, and then it's coals after that. We've been trying to burn slow and low for the last few weeks, but it seems it just turns our fireplace into gunky black crap, which I'm assuming is creosote build up. It's either that or fill it up every hour or two with about three splits, and who's got time to constantly do that when you have a job.
