Friend bought house with this jotul. I am in the market for a new wood stove and was looking at the Woodstock Keystone. This would be free for me (would have to drove 4 hrs to pick up).

is this worth keeping? I am rehabbing a colonial and want a niece wood stove.
Any idea what make/ model Jotul?
Thanks.

Looks like a model 3. It's a simple burner and a decent space heater, but not an EPA stove. The stove looks like it has not had a lot of use and visually in good condition. It would make a nice area heater for nights and weekends. Free makes it even more attractive.

The Keystone would be better for heating 24/7. That stove would have better heat control over a wider range of output, more fuel capacity, a longer burntime and it will use less fuel. One caveat with the Keystone is it requires an oddball 7" flue, though some do get away with running it on a 6" flue that has decent draft.
