Hello , I enjoy reading in this forum a lot. I would like to ask if someone knows the difference between the Jotul firelight 12 and the Jotul F600 ? I can see that they look somewhat different, but is that the only difference? Which one is the best choice?
thanks a lot

The 12 is a catalytic stove the F600 is a tube stove. The 12 requires more maintenance and parts for it are $$$.

Thank you very much for your reply. I think the 12 which I have is without Cat. Probably because I am in Europe and over here they are different? When I l,ook into the firechamber the inside plates are mounted to the backwall of the stove. I do not see where a cat would be?
My 12 has a small door on the right side to load wood. The top can not be opened

Can you post some pictures of the outside and inside of the stove? Is there a secondary manifold at the upper rear of the stove?

Very nice, I love the blue-black finish. It looks like the double-door F600 which was sold here for a few years. Is there a secondary combustion manifold under the baffle?

Yes I like this blue-black enamel finish also. I thought I had a 12 .. I am not sure what you mean with manifold, there are 4 tubes fitted with litlle holes in them. Is this what you mean? See photo

I will put this F600 in place of my Jotul 121 with heat exchanger on top. Because I love to watch the fire. Do you know how the F600 compares with the 121 without or with heat exchanger? I actually never used my Jotul 121 with the heatexchanger on top because I just recently bought the exchanger..

The F600 is a fine stove and much more efficient than the old 121. It looks better too. Both are good heaters but the F600 will use less wood and will give you a mesmerizing fire view. To get the best out of it you will need to have fully seasoned firewood.
