Hello - I read this thread https://www.hearth.com/talk/threads/help-having-a-hard-time-connecting-jotul-flue-collar-to.63887/ which discusses pretty much my exact issue (was very glad to find it because the tech support i spoke to did not seem to have any idea about this issue with jotuls).
So i have cut away the outer wall of the adaptor quite a bit and cut slits as well, it doesnt look great but now the inner (male) pipe is down the 1 3/16" that the tech support at selkirk said was required, and i can put a decorative collar (not sure if this is the right term) around it to hide the mess.
My problem now is how the pipe should be attached: the two holes in the flue outlet are very wide - is this so that a screw can just pass through it and go right through to the inner wall, not biting on the stove metal itself but sandwiching it between the two pipe walls (which means i need longer screws than the ones provided)? or am i supposed to use screws wide enough to bite on the 2 holes in the flue outlet?
any advice much appreciated
