My friends Jotul Castine, Ivory Enamel is chipping on the top and front of the stove, the stove is three years old. This first happen about a year ago to the top of the stove and the dealer replaced the top. His stove has not been used for about a month and now the top and front are starting to chip. He even watched a chip pop off the top one day.
During the burning season he burns 24/7 (oct-march) and is very careful with his temps (about 650). His stove thermometer is on the flue pipe exiting the stove which is all so Ivory Enamel and that area is fine. he contacted the dealer again and the dealer wants him to send pic's of the damage and said he might be over firing the stove. We both inspected the stove and there are no signs of wrapping in the fire box. Now the questions, what do you folks think is going on and has this happen to anyone else?
Thanks,
Chris
