Hello folks,
I have been burning Jotul 600 for the past 2 seasons. I have some smoke leaks mostly when the stove is cold and just starting. Sometimes I understand that's due to bad draft due to weather etc. When the stove gets a bit warm and gets going so smoke. However I get this whistle as in air being pulled in the chamber from the same spot where it leaks.
So my questions is what is the remedy ? I am preparing to replace gaskets on doors and ash tray anyways. I took apart out the top and the baffles.
Can I just push in some furnace cement? Now that I have most of the guts out. What else to look for and areas to seal for improved performance?
Attaching some pictures for reference...
Thanks much!

I think I have figured out my questions....
There are some pix after I have applied furnace cement. I also have replaced all door gaskets and the gasket on the top.
Smoke seems to be contained now. We'll see how long it will last.

That should hopefully work for the season. If the problem returns, take the stove apart and caulk the seams when putting it back together. Use enough cement that there is a good ooze which gets wiped off on the exterior, but can be left on the interior. Hearthstone sells a good stove cement that would work well for this application.
