It was funny, three burn in firea produced very little smoke or smell but once I opened it up it went crazy lol smoke and smell all done now but it was bad for a couple hours at 500*

I haven't got mine that hot yet. Maybe leave the AC open a little longer. I'm probably shutting it down too soon just because I'm new and overly cautious

Lol. Sorry. That thermometer is located in the middle. The corner unit topped at 625. That was highest temp thus far.

From what I have gathered here, right corner of the 'griddle'. Mine is in a shawdow, hence using the middle thermometer.

Well I had my F55 over 900 once (accidently) and no harm done. I don't plan on doing it again, but it's nice to know the stove can take the abuse if accidents happen.

about 20% MC and seasoned about 1 1/2 years...My neighbors all laughed when I was collecting wood a year and a half ago with no stove but I think they get it now.

I like my wood 18% or less and it's tough to get Oak that dry in 2 yrs, especially if it was cut fresh, unless I split really small. I split medium and try to leave it 3 yrs. The splits ring like a bell when I knock 'em together.
