Ah, that's good. I didn't want the bypass to rust up. If we go by the Tile Fire manual the hearth will not require micore. That is unless you want to be aggressive here and build a hearth that could work for stoves requiring much more protection. What are your thoughts for building a hearth pad for the stove? What would the top surface be?
