Insert Broken Fan Knob Control?

Go to tend the insert this evening, and see this (actually, the knob was upside down).

Further inspection reveals this -

PE Pacific D1 (Super) , installed 9/08.

Can I glue while I wait for a replacement?

Anyone else had this problem?

All else working fine.

Luckily for me, the fan is set to the coldest weather position, which is coming Saturday.

You can try and superglue it back, but be careful or the shaft could get glued to the collar. Release the broken end from the knob by loosening the setscrew. Apply the glue with a toothpick to control spread. Apply a light, thin coat to both pieces. It will need to held in place steadily for a minute or two so get comfortable. Then let it set for an hour. Don't put the knob back on the mended shaft. Instead, use fingers to turn the speed until the new one arrives. There will be less leverage on the mended shaft that way.

I went to the PE website, the Pacific manual does not include the knob assy. The Super manual does. How to tell if they are the same????

It's likely the same. Just a standard speed controller. They are not cheap.

If the fan was left on high you could use a Variable Speed Controller to set the speed, just plug in the fan to it instead of to the wall.

It's set to a lower setting, unfortunately.

No, I did not.

This house layout works best with the PE fan on low in colder temps, and 2 (one second story, one in stove room,) ceiling fans pushing down when the temps get really cold (air feel Sunday is 1F <note BB fav emoji here > should be fun !!)
