I don't think either is designed to heat water. A boiler yes, but not a stove and I don't think most furnaces have a DHW loop in them either. Installing a DHW loop in an appliance that is not designed for one can be VERY dangerous. It can be done with proper thought, execution, and safeguards, but it's generally deemed highly unsafe and most insurance companies, building inspectors, and appliance manufactures would say absolutely NOT.SolarAndWood said:Is there a reason a big stove can't heat DHW like the furnaces do?
You're better off keeping water loops away from intense heat and appliances which didn't come with them... things can go boom in a big and bad way!
