After searching through some posts last night I see that there are still folks here struggling with this wood stove. I’ve been burning with this stove for 4 years now and I’d like to share my method with any of y’all out there struggling with this stove. I made a YouTube channel when I got the stove so that I could share my experiences as there was hardly any info on this stove at the time. I posted 2 videos recently on how I start a fire and when to close the bypass to engage the secondary burn system/catalyst and also one on how to do a hot reload and get overnight burns. I do not make any money from my channel and am not trying to promote my channel either. I just want to give advice on the best way I have found to run this stove. If you watch the vids and have any questions, don’t hesitate to ask…I will answer any questions as best as I can. Happy burning, everyone!

Good videos! In the first video, I was surprised to see your cat jump from 200 to almost 600 just by pushing your coals back and not having the bypass closed. The second video didn't jump until after you closed bypass at 490. This is my 4th season as well and still learning it!

Thank you…yeah if I remember correctly, I think I let the coals burn down a little more than I usually like to before reloading.

Just out of curiosity, is that a pre fab zero clearance fireplace you have your dauntless set up into? If so I have a similar fireplace and would like some more info on your installation.

It’s actually setup as a hearth stove in my masonry fireplace. It’s setup with rear exhaust with a tee and a 6” stainless steel flue liner.

Be aware of clearance the combustibles. Having a non-combustible veneer in top doesn't matter; the distance to a combustible behind it still needs to meet the r exceed the clearance listed in the manual.

Full masonry fireplaces have no combustibles near the stove.
