How much wood have you burned so far

I do think the rest of the posts for this thread should indicate if they are burning full time or part time. I think a lot of us assume everyone burns 24/7, but obviously not the case. The low amounts of wood we are hearing, even for a mild winter, can't be from full time burners. Cheers!
1.5 cords of WTF's/Chunks/Sycamore and odd balls. Burn 24/7, at 70-74.

I think I've burned like 3/4 of a cord. Mostly pine. I have used oil heat for like one full day of heating, but besides that all wood. I am in disbelief how much wood I haven't burned. The mild weather has been very generous to my wood pile. I have really enjoyed burning pine this shoulder season.

My old stove I used to burn 24x7 after Thanksgiving unless it got up to the 50s. With a heat pump as my other source of heat, above 40 it's fairly efficient. So if it is above 40, I usually am not starting or maintaining a fire. When it's going below 32 F, I do usually have my stove going. Between 32 and 40, it depends on how I'm feeling and whether I am busy.
With the Oslo and dry wood, it is fairly easy to start up the stove from a cold start. So with the mild weather this year, I am around a face cord. I think last year at this time, I was down a cord.
1/2 cord. A lot of it wasted because it takes some to get the insert warmed up. Haven't had much opportunity to burn it 24/7, where it really shines. When it gets cold and stays cold, I will get the most out of my wood supply!

So far, a little over a half cord. Using the worst first, except that one pile that was moved to the head-of-the-line, was pretty well sprinkled this year, and took a while drying near the stove. Slowly.
This R&R period can't last. Well covered stacks of BL & sugar maple from a couple years back are ready & waiting along with some more recent white ash. At least this climate shift is leaving us stocked up for long into the future, if it doesn't just rot with all the rain.

Feeling the Heat
Probably a cord and a half or two. We are new at this. Lot's of unnecessary burning and small loads. Also we had about 3/4 cord of really dry stuff that disappeared early on. I screwed up... we burned alot of it early on where we should have kept it aside as starter wood.
3300 sf ranch. One stove on each end. Haven't used the LP forced air yet.

Probably a cord, or thereabouts. I've been pulling from a couple separate piles.
Lost a handful of burn days during the transition from my old stove to my new one. Other than that, and other than letting the stove go cold and using the electric baseboard heater when the lows for the day stay above 50, wood heat is pretty much all I do.
Mostly, the stove goes 24x7. That was tough with my old stove, requiring lots of attention. Super easy with the new one.

Sorry, I have been using furnace but not much at all. So I guess my totals are not right. But, my gas bill has been hardly anything at all so far too. Temps here have been way above normal at least going into Dec.. Oct. was maybe total of 5 or 6 loads mostly night loads. I only had to burn maybe strong 1 week in Nov.. Now I have been burning much more. I heat 2200 sq. ft. and house and is very well insulated. Believe me when it gets real cold I will be cranking up the stove. Usually during the day if the temps are around 40 or near I just try to keep my stove running low between maybe 10 and 4 by throwing just a few splits in to keep going and then around 4 its time to load up. I burned a total of maybe 7 or 8 face cords last year. My objective is to lower gas bill as much as possible and still be comfortable. I will probably not be able to get away from gas totally since my current stove is under powered for my house in the real cold temps.
Everyone is different in how they use their stoves and how much they need too. I was not trying to brag about how much I have used so far. I was just wondering in different parts of the country how much everyone has used.

im about 1/2 cord maybe more wife got laid off so we are burning twice what we did last yr. and its been warmer.
still haven't gone thru one full cord. I have a gas furnace that the breaker was off up unitll about two weeks ago. As far as i know it has come on twice about 5 am with a cold night in the upper teens or the low twenties. heating a 110 yr old 1500 sq ft house. Insulated the whole place nine years ago.

only about 1/2 cord so far. used the furnace over Christmas....the folks that have electric of oil heat find it a bit too warm if its burning. funny how they get used to the cold.....

About 2+ face cords. Mostly Ash. Getting too spoiled with the warm house to run the T5 only on weekends Have been burning 24/7 for the last couple weeks. Temps still running on the mild side here in Michigan. :cheese:

As far as the first face cord or so i burned it was pretty well dead oak, mostly white oak. Some of it was starting to get doady. Probly dead on the stump a year before i cut it last year, so easy 2 years and close to 1 year cut split and stacked. My point here is that i am not getting full btus from it, which is why i burned it first this year.
I also can control my heat in my home by letting the fire go out, obviously, or by opening and closing doors to parts of the home that we NEVER go into unless company is over. If we get too hot i just open a door or two and turn the fan on to move the cool into the stove room to get the heat out. So i could sometimes burn less wood and only heat the part of the home i need to. So like others have said including myself i am saving money but heating more of the house than i use to .
Between two stoves, we've burned 2-1/2 cords. It has been unusually cool in my neck of woods this fall, though December has been relatively mild. We started burning mid-September.

well i think i have burned 2/3 of a cord maybe less
and about 2-5 gallons of oil hahahaha i love it!
they cam to fill up the tank last week and it was only 20.7 gallons that heats are hot water and i know the furance has only been on twice so maybe only 3 gallaons of that are for heat.

we have burned about 1 3/4 cord here. but we have a new born in the house a great little grand baby eiiie and the girls like to keep the house 78 - 80 so the wood goes in even when its 40 out side.
