Please people, it's cord, not chord and the plural of cord is cord, not cords or chords.

Wow...thanks! I did not know the plural was cord. If I am ever not hopelessly snowed in again, I shall take my black marker with me to the store and color in that "S" at the end of the word "cord" on the professionally printed ad from the local lumber yard stuck to the IGA window.

I have enough wood for this winter and I have 2.5 cord stacked for next. Sadly, a beloved old apple tree rootwalled during a recent dreadful wind storm. Someday the snow might melt enough to start processing this also.

I doubt we have much more than about a 6 year supply left.

Ok,
Dennis, Quads, and you guys with more wood than you know what to do with can no longer vote in these kinds of threads.
I mean....really, it's just.......inhumane.
Ha! I'm small potatoes. Dennis has more cord than me. (cord/cords/chords/corduroys/and the little ones are cordettes)

I vote that we change the term 'face cord' to 'cordette'.

How about 'cordless' since it's a lot less than a cord?

Oh, and I believe it was agreed in another thread that the plural of "face cord" is "face cords". That's the English language for you... so many complicated rules to have to remember.

It's like the word "antenna" the plural of which depends on the meaning. For insects, it's "antennae" but for radio, it's "antennas".

I have 10 chords stacked and seasoned in the back yard for this year and next year.Yesterday I got a 7 chord truck load which is for +3 years out. Do you see what listening to all the posts in this forum has done to me? I heeded the relentless advice to pursue DRY SEASONED wood and now I am a mad man who craves splits!

I'm fairly close to you. Question for you and others. I can cut 3 cord free from the property where I work. I'd like to get very far ahead on wood and would like to get log loads delivered - can you all give me an idea of what the cost per cord typically works out to be for green logs delivered?

Anywhere from $75-$110 a cord. Most grapple loads are 6-8 cords.

If you pay for a full cord and get less is it a rip-cord?

And if you come from the land of Cord, you must be Cordanian, or Cordish. Wait, cordish would be almost or approximately a cord.
