We have a roughly 1100 sq.ft. ranch and our Pioneer heats the upstairs only. The basement has two electric baseboards, just enough to keep it decent.
You have Pellet pigs here? I guess then I'm a Pellet prude. Last year we used 70 bags. The stove is always off at night (we're sleeping, we have blankets, we'll live ) During the week unless it's really cold it stays between 60-63 during the day and 63-65 during the evening. When winter is in full swing it never gets about 68 and that's usually only during the week days. On the weekends of course the temperature remains pretty constant because my wife is home and I want her to be happy. If it's just me here or no one is home I don't care.
So I bought 120 last year, used 70, and am going to buy the minimum delivery of 50. That should be about 20 bags a months worth from Nov-March. Fine with me.
For me it's not an issue of money it's an issue of getting the damn pellet bags in the house. We don't have a garage and the shed has no room so they go in the basement. I use my lawn tractor to haul 10 bags a time over to the bulkhead where they get slid down the stairs so of course the less I have to move the better.
