How many times in a row, and how often does your auger turn and not drop pellets? My stove runs great from setting 3-5 but 1-2 the auger turns to often with out dropping pellets and causes the flame to burn to low, then the auger will turn and drop a boat load in and end up smothering the fire. It turns a lot with out dropping pellets on all settings, but the auger turns more frequently on higher settings so that seems to make the difference in keeping the fire burning well on the higher settings.

Question: Is this a pellet issue only, or is there control board, auger issues that can cause this?

I burn LG’s I do have a few bags of some hard woods with less fines, going to see if the turning with out pellets is lessened with them this week end.

Thanks!

In addition, I have been playing with the damper since I got the stove and I think I finally have it burning right. The heat out put is fantastic, and it’s burning cleaner then before, just not on 1-2 settings. Even if I mess with the damper to get the fire to stay on 1-2 it burns horrid, a lot of smoke outside because the constants flame almost going out then burning again. so i think the major issue is the pellet flow :-)

Then please do me the favor and comment for yourself and your wife. :-)

I am dealing with a bad batch of Blazers from HD right now and am experiencing the same issue. Excessive fines causing the auger to fail to deliver.

I will pick up some better product tomorrow (hopefully) and sift the rest of these to make them usable.

does the auger have a "trim pot" where you can adjust the low end feed rate? the auger should cycle enough to keep enough fuel for a small fire , dropping to coals and rlighting from them is as dirty a burn as you can get.

Yeah on low there is three trim settings 2 Seconds ON time auger pulse (default) 2.5, and 1.5 seconds. However, it does not matter what I place it on I can still get like a 9 second count between auger turns. Strange!

Yeah, I have a totally different view on how many times and how often than my wife does too. She likes more times and more often, I prefer one time and less often. Go figure.

The stove is a totally different issue. It usually does not immediately shut off when the pellets drop. It also stays hot and keeps running for a while when it is turned off. I clean it more often too. ;)

Hahaha you know ill blame it on lack of sleep, but I just got that! was kind of confused by Eric’s comment but what else is new.

And this doesn’t have to do with the stove shutting down, it's while its running.

Thanks.
