Second season of burning only Wood Pellet Co. pellets. Went thru 3 ton last year and have used about 20 bags so far this year. Haven't seen anyone else using these but they come from Sumerhill PA.

Do the bags look like these?

Those are the ones. Seem to burn pretty good for me. I haven't had to adjust the stove yet. Last year I did a test and came up with 3 lbs of ash after burning 750 lbs of pellets. Only a hand full of clinkers for the same amount.

I will have to give them a try.

Damn blanc12,you already burned 40 bags? Where you at son? must be coooooold up there.

Im going to pour bag #27 in today... its 13F.. Been like this for about 3 weeks off an on. Started burning First weekend of October

Burning my 1st bag(ever) as I type this :) ProPellet but switching to Lignetics after the 2 bags of this are gone.

47 bags (including the 2 left in the hopper now)

35 Eco-Flame ( a pretty good softwood pellet)
5 Badgerland
3 Uncle Jed's
1 Eureka
3 Wood Fibers, Inc. ( from Niagra, WI.) The best price locally, so far. $195/ ton for 2 or more ton. Hardwood. Pretty good, also.

Left in stock:
3 Pro-Pellet ( Price per ton at TSC in Escanaba was $189.50 this past Wed.) Bought them just to check 'em out. $4 and change- bag price
70 Eco-Flame
100 Wood Fibers, Inc. being delivered next week.

5 bags Natures Own (1/2 ton left over from last year)
1 Bag NEWP from this years stock

NEWP's seem to burn hotter and glass stays much cleaner

1 bag of maine athens (horrible tons of ash and not too warm)
1 bag of somerset (very little ash and pretty warm)
3 bags okies (medium amount of ash and very warm/hot)
2 bags of Northern (has a bear on the front of the bag came with the stove very low ash and very good heat)

So far I like the Northerns the best but don't know where to find them. I bought the stove on craigslist and the guy gave me these 2 bags I think they were kind of old.

Just came back from the Haverhill BJ's. Got my pallet of pellets. Oakies (65 bags) for $349. They're all nice and snug in my shed. Now my delemma...what do I burn now? Oakies or Lignetics.

By the way, I burned some Oakies last night and today. I hooked up a digital readout from work with the thermocouple in one of the heat exchanger tubes. Lignetics ran at 133 to 137 degrees (on low) The Oakies ran at 140 to 145 degrees. I had to turn the combustion air down a little because they were burning too fast.

Chandler, I don't see what your dilemma is. If the Lignetics don't burn as hot in your stove, then use them now and in the spring (shoulder seasons), and use the Okies when it gets really cold.....pretty obvious, IMO.

Almost one ton of NEWP done and I have to say they have burned much better than last year's. I have two more tons and will not hesitate to get more unless I can get Okies or another premium at same price. I like to try different pellets for kicks

LOL! Thanks macman....but they burn so good! I'm going to do just that. I'm still looking for some Rocky Mountain deals. My local guy has them for $6 a bag.

Infernos - 2 bags

Michigan - 2 bags :long:

Clean Energy - 1 bag :long:

Marth - 1 bag :smirk:

AWF - 1 bag :)

Premier - 8 bags :smirk:

First 5 brands were ones I never burned before, so they were just "test" burns.

So far, the Marth and AWF were the best.
