I have gone through 41 bags so far this year....

3 - Somerset
20 - Penningtons
2 - ProPellet
16 - Rocky Mountains

Ranking order for
Best Heat.......Rocky Mountain, Somerset, ProPellet then Penningtons
Ash................Somerset, Rocky Mountains, ProPellet then Penningtons
Fines..............Tie for fewest amount- (Somerset, Penningtons, ProPellet) then Rocky Mountains had the most.
Dust...............Worst was Rocky Mountains by far
Price/bag........Penningtons($3.84 match + 10%off/ $5.99 reg), Somersets and Penningtons($4.25- 10 ton purchase/ $5.49 reg), ProPellet ($4.99 reg)
Over all..........Somerset, Rockys, ProPellet, then Penningtons; basically all four are nice pellets just each one has own high notes as well as low.

My Harman Eccentra does not mind the fines as they will burn but the dust when pouring the bags in the hopper I was surprised by the amount of dust given off by the Rocky Mountains. The other three varieties hardly anything noticable, maybe just a softwood thing?

man i used rockys and they had little to no dust at all and little fines. I thought they were a great pellet but cannot find them this year in my area so i am using dry creek, AWF and instant heat, all good pellets. I have burned maybe 12 bags so far. i can't believe you burned through 41??? man thats nearly a ton.

I'm thinking maybe more fines due to the transportation/handling?

41 bags = warm house = warm wife = happy wife :-)

17 bags of Uncle Jed's pine pellets since I fired up the stove mid-October.... 22F tonite.

Paid $197.00 per ton...

I have burned 39 bags. This is the first year that I have been trying to keep track each time I dump a bag in.

4--pres to logs
1--pennington
2--energex
32--starlite

Three bags ,so far ,I don't remember what the first two were . The third one is Winnipeg forest products Premium grade . Much better than the first ones .

New to the board...!

Used about 15 bags of Uncle Jeds softwood pellets since starting up the stove in early October.

9 Bags penningtons. My house doesn't get cold unless its freezing outside or if we go a few days with no sun.

15 bags of north country,2 bags of potomacs.Saving the Lg's and spruce pointe for the real cold.

40 bags so far. I run my stove in room temp mode just like the oil furnace, which hasn't come on at all.

39 Maines Choice, seem good so far
1 Maine Woods, new batch, not much of a test but no problems.

Since Sept 15th burning one stove most of the time and the 2nd stove on the really cold nights, I've used 71 bags so far this year

Premium softwoods - 51
LG Granules - 15
Okies - 5

All burn good, LG's with the most ash

I've burned 22 bags so far.20 Athens(old stuff)high ash,cleaning stove daily.2 Penningtons,seem fine.

Burning since Oct 1st,most nites down in the High 20's. stove set to 9 O'clock, Fan to Half speed.burned approx 20 bags in little over a month,
Penningtons
Corrinth
LG's

Almost 20 bags of Lignetics so far this year. Mostly for a couple hours on those chilly mornings....really hasn't turned cold yet here in CT.

23 bags of LG's mostly nights, not much recently though as temps have been back into the 60's. Here's to a short Winter....Global warming anyone? Anyone?

I have burned 6 bags of Rocky Mountains in October and so far none in November. November has been sunny and mostly in the 50's during the day and teens to 20's overnight. I am sure this weather pattern will change soon, but I'll enjoy it while I can. I will normally burn around 15 bags per month from Dec. to March.

25 bags of Greene Team so far this year.

5 bags of Cubex
6 bags of Oakies
1 bag of Strongs
1 bag of Northeast
15 bags of Premier (Energex)
I'm trying lots of stuff first before I bulk up. I'm hooked on the Cubies.
Been chilly here at times, then warms up for a few days. Weather pattern is already setting up
for a not so great snowmobiling season. Needs to stay cold.

No way we will be riding soon! can't wait....

I've gone through 25 bags of LG and 8 bags of Pennington Natures heat.
So far the Penningtons have provided very hot heat and the ash is less than the LG but the fines are a lot more.

1/2 ton of LG mostly at night - two stoves on low

45 bags burnt so far with them being an even split between LG's and Curran. On a side note I took my first load of oil today and from early last May I used a total of 25 US gallons,SWEET.
