Hey Tar12,

I was going to check out the video of the splitter, but YouTube says it is not found. I suppose it could be a YouTube issue. I’ll check again later. Have a great weekend everybody!

I just clicked on the link I provided and the video ran?

Yes...that is my splitter in the video...I paid $6500 2 years ago for mine...they are having a 10th anniversary sale right now...I went into this investment with the mind set that it would pay for itself and it has done that..

Yeah I think I would need to start selling wood to justify the price. I was thinking of a kinetic splitter but right now the only time I would utilize one is if I had a knotty piece I couldn't split by hand and I'm not so sure the kinetic would have the guts to split them.

Depends on how much beer is involved?

Here is one that I was looking at. For what it is I don't think it is too bad a deal.

Thats a nice splitter for what it is.I found several splitters in that price range when I started my search a couple years ago and they either didn't come with 4 or 6 way wedge or table (as the one you listed) or they were awfully slow with cycle times of 13 sec. or greater and I wanted all of the controls in one location and the ability to adjust the wedge on the fly really sold me on the Allwood series and the 10 sec cycle time.Hard to find all of that in one package cheap....

I split to much wood to fool around with a maul anymore...it taxes my old body to much...with each stroke of the lever I get 6 splits with the splitter. If I have rounds lined up like Firewood Bandit I can crank out a cord a hour with a helper...I cant do that with a maul and I don't feel beat to death when I am done. The following link is my actual splitter that they shot this video with...I have lost track of the cord count as I burn and sell...but it is a very substantial amount that I have ran through it already...no way this would have been possible with a maul alone..

Still no luck with the video. Tried it a couple different ways on the phone. I’ll try on the laptop later.

Anyone else having trouble seeing the video recently? YouTube is saying video not found.

"Built for the professional but priced for the home owner." Ouch. But oh so nice! Thanks for creating major splitter envy. <>

When I work with getting or splitting firewood, speed is never a priority. Safety is #1.

I typically split till I am tired and then pick it up another day. No need to split it all at once.

I am in no hurry to get hurt either...I cut and split when time allows....sometimes these are narrow windows of time.I use to let it pile up and keep on cutting...the day comes when it has to be split...my processing area is limited on space and I wish I had lots more room but I don't so I stay on top of it since it has to be split to start the seasoning process and besides I have to have time for hunting and fishing!
